  • Basic knowledge of using ComputerCraft

Instructions

To set up the ComputerCraft station display, follow these steps:

  1. You need at least 6 advanced monitors and 1 (advanced) computer
    • → I do NOT recommend using a standard monitor since they do not support color and touch. The computer only serves as an interface and therefore does not require a modem or extended functions
  2. Place the monitors in a 2x3 grid, with the computer under the monitors
  3. Setup Step 1 info Starting with version 2.0.0, it is also possible to upsize the display to a 3x2 grid or bigger. Please do notice that I only tested the 2x3 and 3x2 setups myself, so if you run into any issues with bigger setups, please let me know via Discord. Setup Step 1

  4. Open the ComputerCraft terminal in your Minecraft game.
  5. Type the following command to download and run the setup script:
  6. wget run https://railinfo.juliandev02.me/setup.lua
  7. Wait for the setup to complete. It should automatically reboot
  8. After the reboot, the script will automatically start and display the station information on the monitors.
  9. Enjoy!

info It is possible to connect multiple monitors to a single computer. The startup script is designed to detect the number of connected monitors and adjust the display accordingly. You can use a cable modem to connect the computer to the monitors.

→ The script automatically fetches the latest lines from https://railinfo.juliandev02.me/api/lines every time the computer is restarted (manually or after a server restart, which happens every 6 hours)
